Ho...hum...

OK, so seriously, what's a chronically obsessed IF girl to obsess over when she's in the wait for her first u/s?!  Especially when work has become all grading and no interactions with "real" people. Time is crawling.  I cannot believe it is only Wednesday.

Trying to think of something clever to say...  I got nothing.

Let's see what's going on:
  • Still finishing grading -- briefly freaked out because I couldn't find a take home exam from one of my seniors. Turns out she forgot to turn it in.  Not a good thing for her (although she's supposed to be dropping it by any moment now...), but so glad it wasn't my fault!  My office is a sty at the moment, but I really didn't think that it had gotten buried somewhere.
  • My intro students rocked the final exam (that is given to all sections of our intro class -- one of my colleagues told me they "spanked the other sections") -- YAY!  Always makes me feel good to feel effective as a teacher!
  • My body has decided that, no matter what time I go to bed, it will pop awake at 5 am.  I will then sleep fitfully for an hour or two longer having anxiety dreams -- about a m/c, about my classes, about life, etc., etc.  Fun.
  • At about 1:30 in the afternoon or so, I get really hazy and can't focus...hence the blogging at the moment.  I can't decide if this is really pregnancy related or just the fact that I'm not sleeping very well at night and have cut out caffeine completely.  I just want to power through my grading so I can go home and take a nap.
  • Some random cramps still -- less than before, though.  I can't decide if I'm nervous that the cramping is gone or glad that the cramping is gone.
  • I can no longer wear 34D bras and am starting to overflow the DDs I used in the 2ww.  This doesn't bode well...
  • Sometimes my bbs hurt more and sometimes less.  For the BTDTs out there, how long do your bbs hurt?  Does it last the whole pregnancy?
  • Starting to let myself think about things in terms of "how pregnant I'll be when..."
  • I miss lattes.
  • So bloated.
  • Still a week before our first u/s...  time is moving SOOOOOOOOOOO slowly.

  1. From what I understand, some peoples BBs don't increase that much, but everyone I've known has had to buy bras several times throughout their pregnancy....

  3. I had the cramping on and off. My bbs hurt for quite a while. Sometimes more than others at 13 weeks, my nips still hurt. I hope you find your focus soon!

  5. IMO this "2ww" is harder to wait for than the normal 2ww... and then once you are at the end of your pregnancy times goes slow again... but all completely worth it ;)

My bbs never hurt until after I gave birth and I had the letting down. The babies would cry and I immediately felt like my bbs were rocks until they nursed! I also didn't have cramps but I definitely had bloating which gave way to an actual baby bump in a matter of days. Sleep was a lot like you are experiencing, then around week 10 I was able to fall asleep seconds after lying down and sleep for hours... that lasted until my last trimester and sleep sucked.. mostly because I couldn't move in my sleep without waking myself up completely. Plus the pressure on my bladder was constant - I think my lack of sleep was magnified because I carried twins....

  6. Your post made me LAUGH! So sorry to be laughing at your expense but you have preggo brain :) :) Welcome! It will last 40 weeks :) You'll get used to it!
PS - the sleep thing has been hard for me too. I woke up at 4am today wide awake and could not go to bed. I've had weird vivid dreams the entire time.

  7. Oh - I know what you mean! And I'm just waiting from point A (positive on HPT) to point B - Beta! Why does time move so effing slowly????

I'm also glad to hear about other people's cramping. It's weird stuff going on in my tummy right now!!!

Hang in there! I am DEFINITELY interested to hear about all your symptoms and such!

  8. It seems pregnancy symptoms are kicking in full steam for you. I am sorry about the discomfort, and I hope they will ease on you very soon. However, it's kinda exciting to see your progression. I can hardly wait for your u/s! it's only couple of days!!! Yay!

  9. All good signs, even if they make you feel cuckoo!
I just hope you start sleeping better - sleep is such an important part of feeling well and bad dreams can be so upsetting.
Congratulations on your students' results! Hope the rest of exams goes well and your dreams and waking hours become more peaceful for you and your little passenger!
    Sending you peaceful thoughts!

  10. I could have written this post myself (except the part about students spanking an exam)! My bbs hurt and are huge. I have random cramping. I turn into a zombie in the afternoon. I wake up at 4:30 a.m. for no apparent reason and remember some pretty freaky dreams.

And I have almost 2 whole weeks before my u/s! Ack!!

Congrats on how well your students did. I hope the next week flies by for you. I can't wait to hear about your u/s!!

  11. You're too funny =) The sleep trouble you decide has stuck with me through the whole pregnancy...dreams are more vivid and usually about anxious or fearful topics. I figure maybe it's getting me use to not sleeping straight through the night. On the painful bbs issue, I had pain in the first trimester that then turned into very sensitive nips for the 2nd and 3rd.

Nice work on your teaching, that has to feel great that all your students rocked it!

  12. I too have had difficulty sleeping throughout this pregnancy. I have a feeling your lack of quality sleep at night effects you throughout the day, but you probably still would be tired :-)
