Bachelorette "party" ideas?

Thank you all so much for your comments yesterday.  I truly am going back and forth from feeling confident to feeling panicked.  (The roller coaster never ends...)  I'm just hoping this week will go quickly.

On a totally unrelated note:  I'm going to the wedding of one of my closest friends in three weeks and she asked me to be in charge of making going out to a bar a couple of nights before the wedding more bachelorette party-ish. Any ideas?  I have a few thoughts but I'd take some more if you've got them.

Note:  we're all a little dorky/geeky, in our mid-to-late 30s (doesn't mean we're mature, just less likely to get really drunk and squeal a lot) and the bride's mother will be there.  No random male appendages will be making an appearance!! ☺

  1. Are there any karaoke places near you? We had the BEST time ever at a bachelorette party that was held in a private room for karaoke parties. The drinks were flowing, people were singing (I'm sure a few videos made it to YouTube, LOL!) It was different, but amazing! None of us were/are really into going to clubs, so it was the perfect choice.

  2. We went to a piano bar for a friends bachlorette party and it was really fun. Other ideas might be dinner and drinks at a tapas place.

  3. I'm an awful party planner. I can't wait to hear what you come up with!

  4. I'm all for piano bars or karaoke places. My husband and friends took me to a piano bar for my birthday and it was a blast. If there aren't places around you like that, I love someday-soon's idea of drinks and tapas. You can never go wrong with that. Good luck!

  5. As a lifelong Karaoke hater, I highly recommend it. I always have fun when I go and even if you're not into singing (although someone certainly must) you can Karaoke gamble - everyone brings 10 $1 bills and throws it into the "good pot" or the "bad pot" - guessing if the person will have the chops to pull off the song. Please note that good can be in the form of performance and doesn't always require the person to sing well at all. :) The result is determined by vote and the losers dollars go into the beer fund. TA DA! karaoke gambling.

  6. Piano Bar or comedy club - that's my vote. OR if you want to get *really* wild, how 'bout a throw back and some good 'ol fashioned roller skating? For some reason that sounds like it'd be fun! Or bowling? (those would be my fav's and they're both dorky/geeky options, LOL)
